Current Assignment in the College of Education and Human Sciences:
Department Chair
Professor, Family and Consumer Sciences Education

Philosophy Statement:
As the chair of the Department, my philosophy is to think of the department as a whole rather than individual segments and work on moving the entire department forward. For each program area, I try to think about individual program needs and strengths and move each to a higher level of achievement. As a teacher educator, my primary responsibility is to teach a graduate class for the on-line masters degree program in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. This program is a part of the Great Plains IDEA consortium (http://www.gpidea.org). I try to incorporate aspects of critical science and constructivist theories in my classes. My teaching is student focused and problem-based.
